  • Education: PhD in Higher Education from UMass Boston, MSEd from Old Dominion University, and a BS from Salem State University
  • Academic Positions I've held in higher education: Assistant Professor, Research Analyst, Director of Student Engagement & Title IX Officer, Program Manager in Athletics and Recreation
  • Small Businesses I've owned: Extra Effort Fitness (individual and small group personal training), Tracy Morin Consulting
  • Professional areas of expertise (things I can both do and teach): program management and evaluation, business planning, large-scale event management, student academic and career advising, qualitative research methods, academic and professional writing, learner-centered/inclusive/culturally-sustaining pedagogies, student recruitment and retention, student and employee onboarding/orientation, organizational analysis and organizational change (particularly in educational settings), spirituality in higher education, healthcare studies curriculum (health policy, health disparities, cultural competence, academic and professional writing)
Beyond (and perhaps deeper) than my curriculum vitae, here are some other things about me that inform my work:
  • I am an identity-conscious leader and educator. There isn't a one-size-fits-all leadership or teaching style that works best for every situation, or for every person. Understanding who I am in relation(ship) to the people I work with is essential for me to be the most effective educator and leader.
  • I ask questions if systems/policies/processes are inefficient, inequitable, or inaccessible, and I listen to the responses to make improvements.
  • I don't do "good enough". If my name is on it, it is done with care, attention to detail, and an understanding of its impact.
  • I strive for balance and boundaries in my professional work. None of us can sustain an always-on work ethic that keeps us checking and responding to emails within minutes of a new message appearing in our inbox. You'll never have to wait for a prompt reply, but if it's the weekend or after dinner on a weeknight, it'll be the next day before I get back to you.
  • I believe we all have the capacity to learn and to thrive, and my job (call it my "life's work")  is to guide learners of all backgrounds to their highest potential.
